Georgia State is excited to announce its partnership with Georgia Grown to present the inaugural Georgia Grown Bowl, featuring rivals Georgia State and Georgia Southern on Sept. 28 at Center Parc Credit Union Stadium.
"Competing for the Commissioner's Cup is great motivation for our football team, most of whom are native Georgians," Georgia State University Director of Athletics Charlie Cobb said. "We are thankful to Commissioner Tyler Harper and the Department of Agriculture for their support of this rivalry. Everyone associated with our University and Department of Athletics understands and values the importance of the Georgia Grown program throughout our state. We look forward to competing so local farmers, agribusinesses, and others benefit from the positive awareness our rivalry game creates." |
The Georgia State volleyball team cruised to a three-set victory (25-15, 25-23, 25-22) over the New Orleans Privateers Saturday on the road at Human Performance Center. The out-of-conference victory improved the Panthers' overall record to 9-3 on the season. The Panthers offense was paced by Keionna MacKey, who finished with 11 kills on the day, and by Peyton Gash, who had 10 while hitting .444. got 13 digs from Kaleigh Fitzgerald to lead them defensively. |
Panthers Finish Third at Julius Johnson Invitational. Panthers were lead by sophomore Mencia Abaigar, the Georgia State cross country team finished third overall in the Julius Johnson Invitational at Mercer on Saturday afternoon. Leading the charge for Georgia State was Mencia Abaigar, who finished strong in the 5k with a commendable time of 18:29.14, securing 9th place overall. Following closely was Julia Dura, who claimed 13th place with a time of 18:51.88. |
