Brad Wilkins, assistant professor at the University of Oregon, will be the featured speaker for the 5th Annual Mike and Terry Metzler Distinguished Lecture , scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24, at 10 a.m. in Georgia State University’s Centennial Hall Auditorium (100 Auburn Ave. NE, Atlanta). The lecture will also be available to watch that day via WebEx. He will give a presentation entitled, “Exploring Human Physiological Limits.” |

Georgia State University Earns More Than $185M in Grants in FY ’24 Georgia State University earned $185.72 million in research awards in fiscal year 2024. This is the second-highest total in university history, and the fifth year in a row the university has topped $140 million in grants. The College of Education & Human Development received $31 million in total award funding, which puts the CEHD among five schools and colleges at the university that set grant funding records this year. | CEHD Welcomes New Faculty for 2024-2025 Academic Year The College of Education & Human Development welcomes several new faculty members for the 2024-2025 academic year – faculty whose research, teaching and service make significant contributions to the college and its students. “We are fortunate again this year to welcome 13 new faculty scholars from some of the most well-respected universities and programs in the country,” said Paul Alberto, dean of the college. “We’re excited to see them share their ideas and talents in service of our students." | Michelle Tobar (B.S. ’19, M.S. ’23) learned a variety of skills in the educational psychology master's program, including data analytics and entry, working in a team setting while completing individual tasks assigned to her, and both the basic and complex elements of conducting research. Currently, Tobar works as a clinical research coordinator at Skyland Trail, a nonprofit mental health treatment organization in Atlanta. "The best part of my job is improving outcomes for the community – something I learned from everyone in the educational psychology program,” she said. |
