Georgia State Day — GSU’s annual day of celebration and giving in support of Panther opportunity — kicks off next Wednesday, April 2.
Why do we have Georgia State Day, and why should you care?
As a national leader in student success, Georgia State is a place where all students, regardless of their backgrounds, can achieve at high levels.
Student success at GSU often relies on removing financial barriers to achievement. Many GSU students work long hours while in school just to make ends meet. Still, nearly 80% of Panthers report some level of unmet financial need each semester. Some are even forced to withdraw from school altogether — many over balances of less than $300. Once they leave, only 24% ever finish their degrees.
That’s why we hold Georgia State Day each year: to unite as a GSU community in raising vital funds that help Panthers succeed — in the classroom and beyond.
