Project BEES Receives Renewed Funding to Prepare Educators to Work with Children with Special Needs in Minority Communities
Project Behavioral Early Education Scholars (BEES), initially funded by a 2019 U.S. Department of Education grant, recruits, trains and supports graduate students interested in becoming early childhood special education teachers, early interventionists and behavior analysts. The project received a $1.23 million grant to continue preparing educators and behavior analysts who can support young children with high-intensity needs. Read More
Three-Time Alumna Named Sole Finalist for Superintendent Position
Mary Elizabeth Davis has most recently been announced as finalist for the Superintendent position in the Cherokee County School District. She is currently the Superintendent of Henry County Schools serving 44,000 students. Davis completed a Masters in Public Administration, a Specialist in Educational Leadership, and a PhD in Educational Policy; all at Georgia State University. Read More
Georgia State One of 49 Colleges Waiving Application Fees for March
High school seniors still thinking about where to go to college can save money on application fees if they apply in March. The Georgia Student Finance Commission said 49 Georgia private and public colleges and universities will waive fees between March 1-31 for Georgia high school seniors seeking admission for fall 2024.
